Liturgical Ministries




Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)


Distribute communion at worship services. EMHC’s are scheduled to serve at the mass they normally attend. Training and certification are required and provided by the diocese. Prerequisites are:

  1. Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  2. If married, must be married in the Church.
  3. Attend a Diocesan sponsored training session.

Lectors


Proclaim the Word of God at our worship services. Lectors are scheduled to read at the mass they normally attend. Training is provided. Lectors are given Lector Handbooks and are required to familiarize themselves with their scheduled readings.

Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers and Greeters)


Welcome and warmly greet parishioners as they arrive at worship services. Assist in the orderly flow in and out of mass, and take up the collection. They serve at the Mass they normally attend. Training is provided.

Altar Servers


Boys and girls (4th grade and up) assist at the altar during all worship services. They serve at the mass they normally attend. Training is provided. Meetings are held as needed for all servers and a fun annual outing is planned each summer.

Sacristans


Sacristans have the responsibility for care of the sacristy and its contents. They set up for the celebration of all worship services assuring all is in readiness. Sacristans are scheduled at the mass they normally attend. Training is provided and on going leadership is provided by the Head Sacristan.

Music Ministries


The Liturgical Music Ministry provides a choral program for all ages. Those interested in serving as choir member, cantor, or instrumentalist are encouraged to contact the music director. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the musical prayer of our community as we gather for worship.

The Contemporary Music Ensemble consists of vocalists and instrumentalists who serve the community during the 5:30 pm Sunday Liturgy and special events with high energy praise, heartfelt contemplative music, and favorite hymns in a contemporary style. Individuals interested in serving with the Contemporary Music Ensemble are encouraged to contact Ashley.

Funeral Choir


Performs one of the Corporal Works of Mercy: “Burying the Dead.” This ministry provides support and comfort to the family and friends of the deceased. We have a phone tree to notify members of a funeral, and no formal rehearsal. We welcome new members.
