Religious Education

Our Religious Education Office offers instruction and religious formation for children in grades K-12 as well as special sacramental preparation sessions for children preparing to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Parents are required to participate in the sacramental preparation of their children. Members of the community are invited to participate as catechists, teacher aides, and sponsors. For more information, contact Carol Colahan at 254-1595 x 3080 or email at colahan@ascensioncatholicsch.org.

Classes are normally held from September through April. We have classes on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 - 5:15 PM for Grades K-6, Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 7:45 PM for Grades 9-12, and Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 7:45 PM for Grades 1-8.

Ideally children who are not in Ascension Catholic School would attend classes K-12. To receive the Sacrament of Penance, First Eucharist, or Confirmation children must attend at least two years of preparation. For information on our preparation sessions for children and parents click here.
