Sacramental Preparation for
First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation

First Reconciliation/First Eucharist
First Eucharist is a very special event in the life of a child and of his/her family. We at Ascension work hard with parents and children to make these two sacraments positive and memorable events for all participants.

Each fall we have at least two preparation sessions for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in our parish for parents and children. The sacrament is usually celebrated in December.

In the spring we have the preparation sessions for First Eucharist for parents and children. First Eucharist is usually celebrated during Mass on two different Sundays during the Easter Season.

Confirmation
At Ascension we celebrate this sacrament in 7th grade on a day convenient for our bishop. To prepare for this important sacrament we have a one-day preparation experience on a Saturday close to the date of Confirmation. It is assured that the child desiring to receive this sacrament has been in religious education classes here or elsewhere for at least two years.
