Ascension Council of Catholic Women (ACCW)

 Hello and Welcome

We believe Catholic women who stand up on issues has brought  this world of Catholic doers of the faith closer as prayer warriors and peacemakers, during these challenging times by becoming liaisons of the JOY of Jesus. Sharing time and talent with our faith-filled sisters offers rewards beyond measure. We are members of the National Council of Catholic Women, we support, empower and educate Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service with programs that respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world. We receive the gift of friendships, do service in action and share the Church’s teachings and rejoice in God’s grace. God does not call the qualified, he qualifies the called. Praying and sharing with faith-filled women offers rewards beyond measure: women working side by side for the good of the Church and our world.... to share faith, fellowship and service.  This year our ACCW celebrated their 60th year here at Ascension Catholic Church. We are so very grateful and blessed to the many women who said yes 60 years ago and continue to say yes today. We are honored to be hosting the 2020 Orlando Diocese of Catholic Women convention here in Melbourne with our CCW Southern Deanery sisters.  We, the ACCW, support our church clergy and seminarians as well as helping our community through scholarships, service projects & fundraising and help our Social Concerns ministry. The Religious Articles Gift Shop located next to the chapel was founded by an ACCW member Ethel Rickert and is still run by ACCW. Just as important we nurture each other and enhance our prayer and spiritual life. This past year we hosted a Women’s Day of Reflection that had over 100 women attend. One of our annual events is attending the Catholic Days at the Capitol. This event provides the opportunity for Catholic Floridians to help strengthen the presence of Catholic values in the public square. Together we advocate for laws that protect and defend human life and dignity.

"O Mother of Good Counsel, patroness of the National Council of Catholic Women,
intercede for us, that we may be wise, courageous and loving leaders of the Church."
