Fr. Eamon invited a group of Just Faith Community members to lead a fundraiser for Children's Hunger Project during Lent 2019. The parish gave so much money we were able to sponsor two local schools for the 2019-2020 school year. In August 2019, we began packing meals and delivering 99 of them to Creel and Croton elementary schools.

Pre-Covid, every month we would gather 30-40 volunteers in room 312 in the Ministry Center and pack several hundred meals at a time. Then every week volunteers would deliver the meals to the schools for the children to take home on Friday.

Post-Covid we have very small groups that pack- usually a family or couple or a single person. We follow the safety guidelines of social distance, masks, gloves, hand washing and sanitizing our work area.

Every Friday we’ve tagged on to the Brevard Public Schools meal sites and distributed on average 500 meals each week to families as they drive through the food lines. This summer we’ve helped at Creel, Sabal, Sherwood and Harbor City elementary schools.

Our Present Stats (as of July 2020):

We pack and give out 580 meals/week- 290 at each school.

Pre March 18 (Covid)- 2320 meals

Post March 18- 8790 meals

Total 11,110 meals packed and distributed since August 2019 until now.
