Mission Appeal Sunday - July 13/14

Next weekend, we will have a second collection for the Mission Appeal. Sr. Consolata Ojemeh, a Franciscan Sister of the Immaculate Conception, will be coming and speaking at all the Masses. Below is a short announcement about the Franciscan Sisters.

The Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception was founded in Glasgow, Scotland in 1847. The Congregation has spread to five other countries: Kenya, Caribbean, Ireland, Nigeria and the USA. Their active mission and ministries are in Kenya and Nigeria, where the sisters work with people living in extreme poverty. The poor living in the sub-regions, where the Franciscan Sisters work, rely solely on the help of the Sisters. While their numbers are small, their impact in the lives of the people they help is large. The sisters have also just opened a mission in the Caribbean, which still needs a great deal of support. Please join the Franciscan sisters in their important work to extend to the poor the same life we share in common mission in Christ Jesus.
