Safe Environment Certification Instructions (revised 5/2021)
** All volunteers age 15 and up must 1) Go through the Diocese of Orlando fingerprinting process and 2) complete the Diocese of Orlando Safe Environment Training--all of which can be done in Melbourne itself! The cost for fingerprinting is $44.00.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a diocesan volunteer! Please note the Safe Environment Certification process consists of 2 Steps:
Step 1: Safe Environment video and quiz
Step 2: Fingerprinting
Begin by visiting https://www.orlandodiocese.org/safe-environment/english/.
Please read the instructions carefully. You cannot sign up for a fingerprint appointment until you have completed the Safe Environment video and passed the quiz.
1: Safe Environment Video and Quiz
Step 1: Watch Safe Environment Certification video.
Step 2: When video is complete, read the diocesan Standards of Conduct and agree to terms. Proceed to quiz.
Step 3: Select parish/school/diocesan entity. Choose applicant type: volunteer, employee, vendor, clergy, or deacon. Complete 20 question quiz.
Step 4: Passing scores are 80% and above.
If you pass, you may immediately download your certificate. Results will also be emailed to selected diocesan entity and to the Human Resources Secretariat. The fieldprint code specific to Ascension is 26. You need this code for next step.
If you fail, you will be redirected to begin again at Step 1.
2: Fingerprinting
If you do not have an email address, please contact the Safe Environment Coordinator in your diocesan entity (parish/school office) for assistance.
