Greetings & Invitation From Fr. Eamon and Fr. Martin

Dear Parishioners,

Father Martin and myself are thinking and praying for all of you and we know that you are also praying for this terrible, nasty thing to be gone.

Trying to stay connected during this time of social isolation is a challenge but important.

We can help each other during this critical time.  If you know of parishioners who live alone, it would be wonderful if you could do a check-in call on them. Most likely all of you are checking with other people to see if they are doing okay.

We also want you to know that we are available to you, too.  If you need to talk or chat for a few minutes, just email one of us and leave me a phone number where we can reach you.   If you know a parishioner who is going through a tough time, let us know and give us their contact information. If you reply directly to this e-mail, it will go to Betsy Glasenapp. You can contact us directly via the contact information below.

Currently, I (Father Eamon) am mostly working from home since that is what they are telling us older folks to do [LOL].

Did you hear what the 95-year-old replied when asked how she was doing?  She said that she was doing great.  When asked how come, she said all the talk on television is about the 70- and 80-year-olds.  So there you are—we cannot lose our sense of humor.  Amen!  Thank you for YOUR Amen.

With Love and Prayers,
Fr. Eamon (tobin2@live.com) & Father Martin (rmartinfitz@gmail.com)

This is Cristina Maria Santos, a Physician's Assistant (P.A.) working at the front lines in NYC in the battle to care for Coronavirus patients at her Manhattan hospital.  Like so many other dedicated and committed healthcare workers, she is providing medical care to those in need during this unprecedented time.  Each day brings new challenges, and obstacles, and tremendous learning about the virus from treatment, safety, medications, progression of the disease, and of course, healing.  Cristina grew up in our parish, and attends Mass with her parents Gregory and Rosa when in town.  Please pray for healthcare workers, like Cristina, that are placing their own physical and mental health at risk, during this time.

We are beginning a parish prayer chain for all front line people serving and protecting people during this pandemic. If there is someone you would like prayed for specifically, please send their name to info@ascensioncatholic.net.
