100+ Families Receive Thanksgiving Meals

Below are pictures of how loving hearts shared God's blessing with families this Thanksgiving. Thank you to parishioners who donated, our ACS 8th grade students who sorted the food and our food pantry volunteers for assembling bags! A big thank you to Jerry and Olga Kelly for coordinating all of this.

Overflow in the Hall with Holy Communion available at the 4:30 Vigil and Sunday 9:30 Masses

We are so grateful that so many people are attending Mass in person again. We are committed to the health and safety of our community and thus will be keeping our church capacity at 25% or 250 people. Those who arrive at the 4:30 pm Saturday Vigil Mass and the 9:30 am Sunday Mass after we have reached capacity, will be invited to attend Mass in our overflow area in the Parish Hall. Our Mass will be streamed to the TV's in the Hall and Holy Communion will be brought over by Ministers of Holy Communion. For our other Masses, we recommend that you arrive early to be seated inside the Church.

Sharing God's Love During the Holidays

ANGEL TREE

Instead of asking parishioners to shop for a specific child, we are seeking donations in order to purchase gift cards for our many families in need. We will be accepting donations beginning now through December 1. Parents will receive gift cards for their children by early December to allow them time to shop before Christmas. Please consider including these children in your family's Christmas budget. All donations can be mailed to the Ascension Church office or dropped in the collection basket. Make checks payable to "Ascension Social Concerns" noting "Angel Tree" in the memo line.

MAKING CHRISTMAS REAL FOR FAMILIES IN CRISIS AND CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE

Every year, our Ascension parishioners rally together to bring Christmas gifts to those children who may not normally experience a joyous Christmas. Children's names and their Christmas wishes will be available for selection from the Giving Tree outside the main doors of the Church after every Mass on November 21/22 and December 5/6. All gifts will be collected after each Mass the weekend of December 12/13. If you would like to help, please contact parishioner Cyndi Hernandez at (321) 480-4119 or by e-mailing her at Cyndi.Hernandez@brevardfp.org.

SOCIAL CONCERNS CHALLENGE

A very generous donor has gifted Social Concerns and our Food Pantry with a large gift. The only condition of this gift, is to challenge our community to raise $25,000 for Social Concerns by December 31, 2020. We are happy to report that, as of this posting, we have now received $20,000 in donations.

With the temporary closure of the THRIFT SHOP and the holidays fast approaching, we’d like to be able to assist as many families and individuals in need through this campaign challenge. If you are able to help us meet our goal, please mark your donation “Social Concerns Gift Challenge”. Thank you God bless you for your continued support of our Social Concerns outreach ministry.
